This year the theme for LGBT+ History month is ‘Behind the Lens’. The aim of this theme is to celebrate LGBT+ people’s hard work and contributions made to the production of film and cinema from ‘behind the lens’.

LGBT+ History Month is celebrated in February to coincide with the 2003 abolition of Section 28 of the Local Government Act 1988 that banned 'promotion of homosexuality' and 2023 marks the 20 year anniversary of this.

We are seeing more and more of the LGBT+ community represented across the media over the last few decades, as there has been a steady increase in social acceptance of lesbian, gay and bi relationships. In fact, there are 1.5million LGBTQ+ people living in England, and we know this as this is now recorded as part of the census!

We all want to be part of world where people feel free to be themselves and we want our work environment to be just that.

So, what can we do?
