Thanks for coming along to our employment event, we hope you enjoyed finding out more about career opportunities in health and social care!

We know there was lots of information to take in on the day, so we've brought it together here, for you to refer to at any time. You can even share this page to social media or with friends and family.

How many roles are there in health and social care?

As we explored on the day, there are hundreds of different roles across health and social care, including

  • primary care
  • secondary care
  • social care
  • support services

all of which make a difference to the lives of others.

To find out more about these roles and whether they are suited to you, take a look at these quizzes to find out more:

What does it take to work in health and social care?

Whilst there are hundreds of roles and careers across health and social care, there are some things they all have in common – the values that we share.  Anyone working in a health and social care role will need to:

  • want to make a positive difference
  • be caring
  • be respectful of others
  • feel empathy
  • see the strengths in everyone

You can find out more about Persona's REACH values here.

What opportunities are there to develop my career in health and social care?

At the event, we heard from a number of people who work in social care, who shared how they have developed in their careers. You can compare roles across the NHS and social care here:
