Kat Sowden

Brief Career Summary:

I started my career working in recruitment agencies and quickly realised that I had a passion for managing people. I went back to university alongside my job and completed my MSc in Human Resource Management and then went on to work at Bury Council as an HR professional predominantly in adult social care. 20 years on I’ve had the opportunity to lead a number of service redesign  and transformation projects. In 2015 I lead the project to create Persona by transforming in-house services, and I became the Managing Director of the organisation. I am absolutely passionate about providing great services and great employment in Bury and in embracing our unique relationship with the Council to support delivery of Let’s Do It. I love the variety of my role and the people I have the privilege to work alongside and the fact that I can make the place I live a better place to be. I also play a role in the wider Bury Health and Care system representing Persona and acting as Senior Responsible Officer for Workforce.

Outside of work I am a mum of two amazing girls and a huge animal lover. Horses, dogs, cats, chickens… the list goes on! They all keep me on my toes but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
