In the week leading up to Sunday 17th May, the Persona team walked (and in some cases ran) during their lockdown exercise time to raise money for the care workers' charity with our Coniston reBOOTed Challenge.
Two team members deserve a special mention; Kath actually did two walks, one of 6.5 miles and one of 24.14 miles - that's definitely above and beyond the challenge - well done! Joel walked and ran a total of 26.33 miles in one go - a marathon effort, thanks Joel!
We've seen canals, lodges, woodlands, bridges, empty motorways, bluebells, deer, chickens and lots of gorgeous sun! We were accompanied by our families - two and four legged - and we all found it made us feel better for being outside, being active, as well as for connecting and giving to others.
We decided to do another hike following our successful trip up Snowdon last year, which you can read about here, but had to reBOOT our original plans to climb Coniston Old Man on 17th May following lockdown and social distancing rules.
People around the world have been using lockdown to scale the heights of mountains by going up and down their stairs, or covering marathon distances doing loops of their gardens. So we decided to invite everyone across Persona to join in our 'virtually together' wellbeing challenge, to help us all Connect, Get Active and Give to Others during these strange times.
Everyone taking part chose to cover the distance of our planned circular walk (6 miles) - and more in some cases!
Thank you for reading.
